GASS began operating in September 2006 out of Knotley Farm in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire before moving to a larger site at Penn in Buckinghamshire a couple of years later and occasionally running game days out of Piddington Military Training Area. The new terrains allowed us to move away from the capture the flag type of play and we began running multi objective scenarios throughout our game days.
In the past two years with helpful feedback from regulars we have been able to develop several day long game formats that we run often throughout the year. Our main objective is to provide a good military style experience on the field. Currently we mainly run out of Piddington which has had extensive works to improve the site for training troops, which has also benifited GASS. The site is now double the size providing more varied terrain.
We are continuing to run our normal game days and other popular game formats, but also now we have been teaming up with our associate Gunman Airsoft to provide more specialist / themed events such as WWII, Cold War and eventually Wasteland re-enactment/simulated scenarios. If you've never been to GASS or played airsoft before why don't you come and play at one of our normal game days and see what we're all about. If you want to know more about our other events and games then see our Game Formats page or participate on our Forums.
The GASS team comprises of Military, Ex-military and experienced Airsofters. Staff use their combined experience to provide a military style experience on the field. All of us are keen Airsofters who play at other venues and events when possible as part of a team. We take our ideas from other sites and share our original ideas with others too. Are ethos is on community and gamesmanship which is backed up by our regulars, and ever growing support staff.

For an AEG we allow 350 FPS and 500 FPS for a Single Action Sniper. However Snipers should carry a sidearm to deal with close quarter situations during play. FPS (Feet Per Second) is the measurement used to rate Airsoft Replica Imitation Firearms. GASS Has a chrono meter on site to test suspicious guns. If you are new to airsoft and are unsure of the status of your weapon then speak to a Marshall on the day.
Pistols and Shotguns
Recommended as occasionally we run specific games with small arms. Gas Blow Back (GBB) pistols / machine pistols are permitted as well as electric ones.
CO2 powered weapons are not permitted at GASS due to the nature of their power.
AEG's & Snipers
We only allow AEG's (Auto Electric Gun) and bolt action snipers, Gas Blow Back (GBB) snipers and rifles are not permitted at all. If you have an electric gun firing above 350fps and it can only fire semi-automatic/single shot then please ask us if you can use it on the day.

Marshall's and Discipline
Site Staff and Marshall's are present on all game days to ensure a safe and smooth running of the day. All site Marshall's are experienced airsofter's and will only shout orders at players when dealing with an incident or ensuring player safety. All players are briefed on the Marshall's role and methods prior to the day commencing. GASS Staff will request that players put away a weapon that is exceeding our FPS limits, it is advisable that players have a spare weapon if they believe that one of their weapon's may be exceeding GASS's FPS limits. Site staff will remove from site any player who ignores site safety regulations or places other players or staff at risk. Due to the risky nature of the sport GASS will not tolerate unsafe players.

From the 1st October 2007 the Violent Crime Reduction Act came into force in UK Law, included in this bill was new rules to Govern Airsoft in the UK. The bills effective strategy in relation to airsoft, was to prevent anyone purchasing Replica Imitation Firearms or RIF without intention to use them to play airsoft. Because of the changes in Law to help protect the sport, each player must be registered as an airsofter to be able to purchase a RIF.
UKARA (United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association) have the responsibility of holding the National Database and governing the system. Their rules are quite clear and they will not tolerate abuse of the system.
GASS will be issuing membership/affiliation to those players seen at GASS several times and present themselves as fair and safe players. This system now makes us responsible for confirming registration of safe players, so GASS will not just hand it's rubber stamp out to anyone. At GASS we prefer to get to know players as individuals first.
How it Works
If you wish to be registered under the GASS umbrella then come and see us on a game day. We will tell you if you have been to GASS enough for us to recognise you and what your playing style is like. Coming down once a month for 5 months isn’t good enough we need to see you more frequently, if your aiming for registration. After that it’s up to you how often you visit GASS.
UKARA requests that players must visit no less than 3 times over a period of no less than two months, to qualify as a regular for registration. We will provide you with a UKARA form which you must complete, unless you wish to print one off their website prior to your visit and fill it in. We will then confirm your player status then you must take your form to an Airsoft retailer who will process it, and add you to the national database. Once your in the database your registered, without this registration you cannot purchase airsoft weapons at stores, online or from over seas as it will be impounded until prof of registration is confirmed.
We will also take your photo and provide you with a plastic GASS Membership ID Card so that you can present it to Airsoft stores, to verify your identity when they check your details against the database. On your card will be your UK registered Airsoft Number. GASS Membership will cost £10 as a one off payment, no thrills no perks the usual GASS way of things. We will require proof of ID and Address as UKARA's form dictates e.g. Utility Bill and Photocard Driving License.
To qualify to purchase a RIF you must be 18 years of age or over, therefore GASS Membership follows these same rules. It is pointless to join GASS’ Membership scheme if you are not old enough to purchase a RIF. It is as simple as that. For more information or to download the form to fill out prior to your next visit to GASS go to UKARA's website here. http://www.ukara.org.uk If you wish you may register at other sites too, some airsoft venues provide affiliation schemes as well as registration. There is nothing to stop you building up a nice little card collection. Remember we will only approve Skirmishers that we feel are safe players of the sport.
